Wild Bird Day 2024— Preliminary Results

On 12 October, over 1,000 birdwatchers across India celebrated India’s Wild Bird Day, submitting 3,074 checklists and documenting 762 bird species. This national event, aligned with the global October Big Day, saw India rank 8th worldwide for checklists and species reported.

Bunting Count 2022-23: India Summary Report

India reported the highest bunting diversity among seven Asian countries, including key sightings of the endangered Yellow-breasted Bunting. Bunting Count 2022-23 recorded valuable data on migratory buntings across India, with 62 checklists from 40 sites.
