eBird India Taxonomy 2022–Summary

The eBird/Clements world checklist will soon get updated and the entire list will reflect in your eBird account. In terms of species splits and lumps; name changes there are minimal changes for the birders in South Asia but their impact is over a large region. The full list of changes will be posted soon.

Endemic Bird Day 2022––Final Results

14 May 2022, was celebrated as Endemic Bird Day in India. More than 1,000 birders went out to look for endemic (and other) species on this day and uploaded 4,139 bird lists! In all, 835 species were recorded from India on this single day, of which 151 are endemic to S. Asia.

Himalaya Bird Count 2022––Final Results

Around 424 birders from India, Nepal, and Bhutan uploaded 1,150 lists and recorded 626 species on the day of the Himalayan Bird Count. This is a remarkable achievement for a single-day birding event!
