We only ask for personal information when we truly need it, for example when you sign up to receive our newsletter, when you register for an event, or when you leave a comment on the website. We collect this information by fair and lawful means, with your knowledge and consent; and only in connection with specific activities, such as campaigns, feedback, surveys, email newsletter subscriptions, comments, and registration for events. When announcing the results of monthly, yearly and any other eBIrding challenges or events, we list the names (but never any other personal information) of those who have met the challenge targets. Your name is public by default on eBird, but if you have set your eBird preferences to be anonymous, we will exclude your name from the challenges and the list of names.
