This photo really captured the theme perfectly, with the posing White-throated Kingfisher nicely in focus and the two observers watching it intently.
Thanks to our illustrious judging trio of Ramki Sreenivasan, Rathika Ramasamy and Sumit Sen for choosing this from all the entries in the Birds and People Gallery.
As a topical prize considering the theme, a copy of the brilliantly readable Birds and People by Mark Cocker (read a review of the book) will be winging its way to Avishkar shortly.
