We’re getting closer to the Endemic Bird Day 2017, and it’s time for the second quiz of the Endemic Bird Day quiz series!
But first, here’s the answer to quiz 1:
Bristled Grassbird
Clues:
a. Distribution – a highly nomadic bird, it has been recorded in the winters from across the country but in breeding season, it appears to be highly concentrated in the plains of N and NW India.
b. Prominent feature – the bird gets its name from the distinctive bristles at the base of its bill.
c. Behaviour and habitat – the Bristled Grassbird is a bird of open grasslands and reedbeds, and its distinctive zig-zagging flight and parachuting display while singing is often the first giveaway of its presence.
