Final Results

 

Tokhü Emong Bird Count (TEBC), an annual ‘winter’ event that was started in November 2022! Below are the final results of the 2nd edition of this event that celebrated between 4– 7 November 2023.

Everyday, at least 18 birdwatchers from Nagaland came together for the 4 days (33 birdwatchers on Day 3!), and documented 219 species in 327 checklists! Participants represented 11 districtsAmong the species reported were the following classed as of High Priority in the SoIB 2023 report: Naga Wren-Babbler, Olive-backed Pipit, Rufous-gorgeted Flycatcher, Blyth’s Tragopan, Blue Rock-Thrush, Eurasian Kestrel, Plumbeous Redstart, Dark-rumped Swift.

Thanks to all birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts from across the country who made this event a success. A special shout out to all those who took this opportunity to conduct public bird walks and introduce new people to the wonders of birds and nature!
