Rajo Bird Count 2025— Preliminary Results

Congratulations to everyone who contributed to Rajo Bird Count 2025!

Birders from at least 15 districts across Odisha came together for the Rajo Bird Count 2025. Over the three days, at least 31 eBirders participated each day, with a total of 51 ebirders contributing 558 checklists and recording an impressive 187 species!

Hats off to everyone who organised public bird walks and talks in their regions and campuses, introducing curious newcomers to the fascinating world of birds and nature.

Among the species reported were the following classed as High Priority in the SoIB 2023 report: Little Tern, Whiskered Tern, Oriental Skylark, and Cotton Pygmy-Goose

Among all the districts in Odisha, eBirders from Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, and Nayagarh submitted over 50 checklists each, with Khordha leading at 217 checklists and Nayagarh close behind with 111 checklists.
