World Wide Fund for Nature-India (WWF India), established as a Charitable Trust on November 27, 1969, has been a pioneer in nature conservation for over five decades. WWF India champions a future where humans and nature thrive together, and its science-based approach tackles challenges like species and habitat conservation, climate change, water issues, and environmental education. Working with a diverse range of stakeholders, WWF India fosters a holistic understanding of environmental issues in India.
Bird Counts & Events
WWF India conducts two pan India bird counts through BCI network— Vulture Estimation Program and also Campus Bird Count– a part of Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC).
Other Activities
WWF India actively promotes citizen science by encouraging their volunteers to contribute to nationwide initiatives. Across India, their staff and volunteers play a crucial role in collecting and analysing data, contributing significantly to the ever-growing citizen science knowledge base.
