August 2024 eBirding Challenge

ebirding-challenge-logo-800px-281x300With monsoons in full force in many parts of India, birders are restricted to staying indoors for their birding. What better way to turn this into a positive contribution than to record the birds around your home? Do you see species you havenā€™t recorded before? Which species are found around your house? What is the behavior of the birds you see? You can contribute to answering these questions and more through this month’s challenge.

This month’s challenge is for all the birders who may find it difficult to venture out. Upload at least 20 or more eligible lists* from the same location. This location can be your backyard, rooftop, or garden or a nearby local patch.

As with our other birding challenges, all those who manage to meet the target will be named on this website, and one among them will be chosen at random to receive a small gift in appreciation.

Please upload all your lists by 10 September 2024 so that we can announce the results soon after that.Ā

* Eligible checklists are those that report all species seen/heard (and are therefore marked ā€˜completeā€™), report numbers for all species rather than Xs, and are of at least 15 minutes or longer in duration.

Here are details aboutĀ eBird-Indiaā€™s Yearlong Challenge for 2024.

You can keep track of fresh lists coming in from India on thisĀ page.

Hi
I have one request or a query.
Does bird count of india give certificates to those who become “ebirder of the year” or for any annual challenges?

If not, can it be given?
It would be a nice feeling to have such thing because that person has done really well whole year.
(Currently only one lucky person get some goodies.)
It would be an achievement and people can showcase it.

Thanks in advance.
Waiting for your reply.
