All Indian districts now have eBirding!

November 2023 was a special month. Bird Count India collective achieved a special milestone. Now, all Indian districts, 735 of them, have eBirding!  Here is the story of the last two districts that completed eBird coverage!

Kra Daadi district, Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh Birding Club based out of Ziro, led a multi-member expedition to cover this last remaining district in the state. A two-day bird count was held in Palin on 10th and 11th November and they found some interesting species like the Eyebrowed Wren-Babbler and the Himalayan Buzzard. Koj Mama led this unique expedition that finally resulted in Kra Daadi being the last district in India to be eBirded.

This was followed by the Eco Warriors, Nagaland who conducted birdwatching field trip for school students on 6th and 7th November. All of this resulted in a whopping 51 checklists for the district during this short duration. They also found some interesting species like Grey Sibia and Blue-winged Laughingthrush.
