Common Cuckoo (Cuculus canorus) is a brood parasite that breeds across temperate Eurasia and pockets in central India. Nearly the entire global population winters in Africa.
Just like Amur Falcon and European Roller, Common Cuckoo also makes the remarkable journey from central and East Asia through India and across the Arabian Sea to spend the winter in Africa!
But unlike Amur Falcon which is most abundant in Northeast India during passage, Common Cuckoo is most abundant in South and southwestern India during passage.
