The Bird Count India partnership (www.birdcount.in) seeks applications for the post of Programme Coordinator. The successful applicant will coordinate and conduct a variety of tasks towards the goal of broadening and strengthening bird documentation and monitoring in India through public participation (ie, through citizen science).
Specific tasks will include: writing blog posts, newsletters and articles; maintaining web and social media pages, preparing & producing outreach materials, communicating with birdwatchers and nature groups, analyzing data, and organizing & conducting workshops in different parts of the country.
The successful applicant will have good knowledge of the identification, distribution and ecology of Indian birds; have the computing skills to learn how to summarize and visualize large amounts of data; have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; be proficient in English writing and speaking; and be able to devote roughly one week a month to travel.

Tenure: One year, beginning with a three-month probationary period, with the possibility of extension beyond a year.

Location: This position is housed at the Nature Conservation Foundation (ncf-india.org), Bengaluru office, with intermittent travel across the country.
